Independent Age
One in three people in the UK today will reach their 100th birthday, so it is imperative to rethink ageing. Independent Age aims to tackle the complex issues that prevent many people from living well in older age.
What we do is simple and effective. We understand the issues faced, we campaign for change, and we provide support people can rely on – from clear and simple information guides to a network of volunteers helping us to beat loneliness and isolation across the UK.
Independent Age is growing. Last year we helped nearly 1.2 million people – that’s more than five times the number we helped five years ago. We have increased our impact through the expansion of information, advice and friendship services, as well as campaigning and public engagement activities.
We are looking for three Trustees to strengthen our Board who bring broad expertise and experience gained in either the private, public or voluntary sectors and who offer a significant track record within their field in at least one of the following areas: fundraising and marketing; services, operations or customer services; communications or public relations. You will understand charity governance and have experience of leading transformational change and crucially would like to positively contribute to the charity’s growth in reach and impact.
