Peterborough City Council has a reputation for new and innovative service delivery and are setting up Peterborough Limited, our newly formed Local Authority Trading Company, to deliver a range of services including refuse collections, transport provision, street cleansing, parks and grounds maintenance, office maintenance and cleaning. We are now seeking a Managing Director to shape and set our vision and ensure we deliver high quality services to the residents of Peterborough.

We are looking to appoint a commercially experienced, Managing Director, who will focus on stabilising this newly formed business venture, whilst looking for opportunities to improve the delivery of existing services and build a platform to achieve business growth for the future. Crucial to this role will be the ability to inspire and motivate a multi-disciplinary workforce at every level, providing efficient and cost-effective services that meet our environmental objectives as well as the ability to build strong working relationships with local and national government and across a diverse, local business community.

You will bring proven experience of managing and directing a diverse range of private or public sector services of similar size and complexity. Candidates from the private sector who can demonstrate synergies and familiarity of working in a complex corporate environment will equally be of strong interest.
