We serve a population of over seven million people across the six counties. We employ 3,600 staff who, together with over 1,000 volunteers, enable us to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our Chief Operating Officer is a key senior role on the Board, with a broad portfolio of services, ensuring the safe provision of high-quality patient focused services that meet national performance targets within resources available. Working with executive colleagues, you will develop and manage the organisation’s people, internal processes and infrastructure, in order to allow SCAS to undertake its core activities as well as contribute to its strategic direction.

We’re seeking an experienced operational leader with the capability to inspire and motivate a wide range of staff and stakeholders. You will bring expertise of working through people to deliver complex, diverse and dispersed services – we have plenty of NHS expertise so fresh thinking from other sectors would be equally welcome. Aspirational and performance focused you enjoy driving transformational change and strive for continuous quality improvement, a creative thinker, you are pragmatic and clear thinking.

We’ve got an exciting and challenging agenda ahead of us; one focussed on delivering exceptional services to a diverse and dispersed population. We know the ambitions we have for the Trust can only be realised if we continue to develop and inspire our ambitious and engaged workforce. So we’re looking for an exceptional individual to join our team to lead on the development of our organisation and its people to ensure we truly are fit for the future.
