The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) is the UK’s independent regulator of clinics providing fertility treatment and research involving human embryos.
Established in 1991, we were the first statutory regulator of our kind in the world. We are a small, expert body, regulating a fast evolving and controversial area of medicine. Much of our work is cutting edge, involving the licensing of world-first treatments and research.
Our strategy for 2017-20 puts the quality of care centre stage and we have a new website and a range of new systems that put information for patients at the heart of what we do.
We are looking for a full-time Director of Compliance and Information to play a key leadership role in our organisation’s continuing development. You will report directly to the Chief Executive, be a member of our Senior Management Team and have regular contact with our Board.
The successful candidate will be responsible for our inspection and information functions, ensuring that fertility clinics meet essential quality and safety standards and that the information we hold is used to best effect, for patients, clinics and for the improved running of the organisation.
You will have considerable experience of leadership in the public sector and have highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills to be effective at board level and to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
You will also be familiar with the principles of effective regulation and have knowledge of current best practice relating to the use of information to drive operational and policy development.
