County Wide Strategic Leadership Role(s) in Adult Services:

  • Communities Wellbeing and Independence
  • Specialist Services (Mental Health and Learning Disability)
  • Safeguarding and Quality Assurance

Are you interested in being part of a talented team, leading the delivery of adult services to our residents across the East Riding of Yorkshire?

In the East Riding we are proud of what we have achieved and we are at the forefront of leading change.  This is an exciting time to join our new leadership team and to shape the future of Adult Social Care, working closely with the local authority business management and commissioning service.  As a motivated and focused leader you will be part of an integral team that will oversee delivery for the council’s statutory responsibilities for residents, who require care and support and safeguarding vulnerable people.

Our current Head of Adult Services joined the council in May 2018 and has set out a compelling vision for a future. Adult Services now needs to form a leadership team to assist in designing further our East Riding care offer, promoting wellbeing, prevention and maximising people’s independence.    In these roles you will lead the development of strategy and new ways of working, underpinned by strength based approaches, and organise services in ways that support people with long term conditions, within the context of rising demand and whole system challenges.  Our learning disability and autism service has recently been refreshed and our strong interface with children’s services is focussing on preparing young people for adulthood.  The community mental health services are positioned to support people within the complex context of their life circumstances whilst also promoting prevention and recovery models.  We are building on our success and the modernisation programme is underpinned by national best practice.

Our strong and effective partnerships in the East Riding mean that we value the opportunities to collaborate and design innovative models of care, developing effective working and joint commissioning arrangements with health partners.  Integration is a key part of our commitment to the future.  We are clear about what the future of Adult Social Care looks like within the East Riding.  We believe in achieving the right outcomes for our service users and supporting our East Riding carers is a high priority for us.

We are looking for ambassadors with the energy and enthusiasm to drive forward our next phase of transformation and change within adult services.  You will ensure that social work services are sustainable and delivering good quality of practice.  You will be able to communicate at all levels and work effectively with key council enablers and with our council members.

If you can demonstrate at least 5 years management experience within social care or a relevant professional discipline and hold relevant professional qualifications we a keen to hear from you.  For an information discussion please contact Lee Thompson, Head of Adult Services on 01482 391439.
