    Calibre Audio Library

Ref: GSe52295

This is a vital role in an extraordinary charity. Calibre Audio Library is a national charity providing a subscription-free service of unabridged audiobooks for adults and children with sight problems, dyslexia or other disabilities that prevents them from accessing print.   With the upcoming retirement of our long-serving and successful Chief Executive, and having recently concluded a major strategic review, we are now looking for a new Chief Executive to lead the operation to the next stage of its journey.

Calibre is facing rapid change and exciting new opportunities and so we need a self-starter who is prepared to roll their sleeves up and who brings significant experience of leadership in a not-for-profit, public or commercial organisation and proven experience of engaging and leading an organisation through change and growth. You will be a financially literate, digitally savvy, strategic forward thinker, with excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate our vision to a range of key stakeholders: existing and prospective members (service users), staff and volunteers, potential funders and strategic partners. With a proven track record of working with a Board, you will be adept at building a strong, close working relationship with the Chair and the Board of Trustees.

Given our strategic review we need a leader who is experienced at driving change.  Once decisions have been made about our next phase, any subsequent Chief Executive may need very different skills and experience and so we have envisaged making an appointment for an initial two-year period.
