To enable that, we are recruiting a Head of Enterprise Architecture, a new and pivotal leadership role within our DWP Digital Group organisation.
About the role
Reporting to the overall Head of Architecture for DWP, as Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will lead the development of the end to end service landscape for the organisation. Working together with our Business and Data Architecture teams, as a key member of the DWP Architectural Practice, you will develop a holistic view of the technology DWP currently has at its disposal and what it needs to deliver its future strategic business objectives and operational commitments to our 22 million customers and 65,000 staff.
Helping business leaders to enable their future-state business capabilities is the key focus of the role, driving the organisation's business outcomes through the adroit choice of programs, projects and initiatives the organisation chooses to invest in. This will require you to develop a sophisticated understanding of the Directorate and continuous development of the Enterprise Architecture Practice. You will shape and maintain the DWP Enterprise Architecture Strategy, ensuring it maintains it’s citizen focus through consistent application of the best architectural approach. Leading the successful transition from legacy to digital platforms and suppliers in a continuous development and operational environment, you will secure effective internal and external working partnerships.
About the person
As our new Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will be a successful, exceptional, business aware, enterprise architecture thought leader, able to contribute to large-scale business transformation through the architecting of innovative, practical approaches to the delivery of complex, volume digital services. A credible, experienced Enterprise Architect, you will be accountable for leading an Enterprise Architecture team and/or Practice within a sizeable, complex public or commercial sector organisation. Demonstrating inspiring leadership, you will galvanise the effort of internal technical teams, collaborating with a broad range of external technical and non-technical stakeholders, to develop a cross cutting approach and support for Enterprise Architecture principles and practice.
With a sharp commercial intellect and industry knowledge, you will be able to engage with a broad range of digital, data and technology suppliers and delivery partners to release the full potential of new and existing technology, enabling value for money for DWP in it’s technology spend. You will be an influential and passionate advocate for the user need and customer experience, able to deliver tangible outcomes within an agile operating environment, drawing a direct line of sight between exploiting clever technology and delivering simple to use and understand, digital public services at scale.
