Ref: GSe51931

The NHS Confederation group is a charity which provides the voice of NHS leadership in England, Wales and Northern Ireland with the aim of improving the health of patients and the public.

As part of this group, the Welsh NHS Confederation represents all the organisations which make up the NHS in Wales: seven Local Health Boards and three NHS Trusts.  We support our members by reflecting their aspirations and concerns through strong representation and our policy, influencing, communications and engagement work.

We are looking for a leader with the right values, skills and experience to take forward our work in Wales at a time of increasing challenge. A member of the NHS Confederation’s Group Executive, the Welsh Director will work closely under the oversight of the Management Board of the Welsh NHS Confederation to achieve our vision for the NHS in Wales – one of continuous improvement and comprehensive health provision available to all and based on clinical need.

We are seeking someone with a successful track record of operating at board level in an NHS or other related public service, third sector or private organisation.  A proven people leader and effective network developer, the Director will have a good understanding of the political dynamics in Wales and an ability to influence across a range of organisations and individuals including senior level policy and decision makers.
