Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust delivers acute services from the Hillingdon Hospital, as well as some services from the Mount Vernon Hospital. The Trust has a turnover of around £250m and employs over 3,300 staff. We deliver high quality healthcare to the residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon, and increasingly to those living in the surrounding areas of Ealing, Harrow, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, giving us a total catchment population of over 350,000 people.
This is a challenging time for the Trust facing significant operational pressures through increased demand, we are currently rated by CQC as Require Improvement, not meeting some of our constitutional standards a £22m deficit and a poor estate. However, we’re not daunted by the scale of the challenge and have clear plans in place to get a grip on operational performance as well as improve effectiveness and efficiency. We’re also looking to the future. We have launched Brunel Partners Academic Centre for Health Sciences, a new centre providing the perfect setting for research and developing new methods of healthcare delivery across allied health, nursing, social care and medicine and we are developing plans to build a new academic health campus that would include a new hospital for us.
We are looking for Non-Executive Directors to join our unitary board who share our ethos and values; who have board level experience in a similarly large and complex environment. You must have the credibility to challenge constructively, work collaboratively at Board level and help us maintain effective stewardship and governance. The ideal individuals will have strategic experience in one or more of the following areas: Workforce/HR, IT, Organisational Development, Commercial, Finance, Estates and financing of capital programmes, Local Government, Integrated Care, Primary Care, Community or Social Care.
