Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated organisation providing acute health care services from Torbay Hospital, community health services and adult social care. The Trust runs Torbay Hospital as well as community hospitals and hubs across Devon. We also provide health and social care to the local population.
We have around 500,000 face-to-face contacts with patients in their homes and communities each year and see over 78,000 people in our A&E department annually. We serve a resident population of approximately 286,000 people, plus about 100,000 visitors at any one time during the summer holiday season.
An authorised Foundation Trust since 2007, we employ approximately 6,000 staff including frontline health and social care staff, such as nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, consultants, and physiotherapists who work in homes as well as from a range of different premises across Torbay and south Devon such as community hospitals and clinics.
We are now seeking two experienced senior leaders to join our Executive team. Working closely with our Chief Executive, talented executive colleagues and engaged, diverse Non Executive Board, the appointed individuals will play an integral role in turning our future vision into a reality as our integrated care organisation develops.
Accountable to the Board for the development, implementation and ongoing oversight of health and social care delivery for the population, the appointed individual will lead delivery of all health and care services, ensuring they are delivered to the required standards and within the resources available in support of the Trust’s agreed strategic plans and priorities. We are seeking an experienced senior manager able to evidence a track record of managing operations within a healthcare environment of comparable scale and complexity. Strategically adept, the successful candidate will bring experience of working effectively across complex organisational structures, and in uncertain environments to deliver programmes of change and improvement. A proven people leader, able to create a balance of accountability and autonomy in self- managing systems this is a role which offers challenge and reward in equal measure.
