Red Door Ventures is the London Borough of Newham’s wholly owned development company which was established in 2014. Following the election of a new administration in May 2018, led by Mayor Fiaz, the company has been re-purposed to focus on the delivery of truly affordable, high quality homes in Newham.
This is an exciting time to join the Red Door Ventures’ Executive team, as you will be ensuring the delivery of the largest GLA grant award in London for building new homes. Red Door Ventures is LB Newham’s key delivery partner, contributing to a programme of 1,000 new homes by 2022. Your job will revolve around risk management and assurance of value for money in delivery of the site portfolio- to both the Board and the Council as sole Shareholder.
The role will require an absolute focus on transparency and good governance, together with the ability to future proof delivery against a background of uncertainty in the construction sector.
We are seeking an exceptional professional who has proven technical and strategic financial planning experience in residential development and importantly an empathy with the social purpose of quality affordable housing. This role requires someone who has significant experience of the finance management of large development schemes in an urban context but also has excellent communication skills, which they can deploy with a non – financial audience.
Our new Finance Director will need to be comfortable in working with locally elected representatives as well as community representatives.
For more information or for an informal confidential discussion please contact Simon Wing on 020 7426 3976 or Rosie Gunn on 020 7426 3998.
