We are the Defence Electronics and Components Agency (DECA), an executive agency of the Ministry of Defence, whose world-class workforce is proud to provide Defence with long-term, agile sovereign capability. We deliver maintenance, repair, overhaul, upgrade and obsolescence management services for a range of avionic and electronic equipment. Run along commercial lines, we also grow profitable business streams through the supply of electronics and components products and services to our customers – Army, Navy, RAF, Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), and industry.
Our current chair, is standing down after four years’ successful stewardship of our complex organisation, and we are now seeking a successor to continue leading the Board in overseeing its important delivery programme and in transforming the organisation’s capabilities. Sustainable change – business and culture – will be key to success both in the here-and-now and in the longer term to ensure we deliver effectively for our customers. Our operating site at Sealand is set to become a global repair hub for the cutting-edge F-35 aircraft, and we have successfully grown our relationships with Welsh Government and the Deeside Enterprise Zone Board to create skilled, high value jobs. Our new Chair will guide, support and challenge the strategic direction of the Agency at an exciting juncture in its history, contributing simultaneously both to the nation’s defence and to the prosperity agenda.
You are an experienced non-executive with an excellent track record delivering high-value programmes, and considerable experience handling complex commercial issues, ideally joint ventures. Resilient and possessed of first-rate integrity, you will be comfortable and credible representing our organisation at the highest levels and bring excellent understanding of corporate governance too. Your enthusiasm, commitment and credentials will be inspirational to our workforce as it we continued to develop our business and deliver for our customers.
