Red Door Ventures is the London Borough of Newham’s wholly owned development company which was established in 2014. Following the election of a new administration in May 2018, led by Mayor Fiaz, the company has been re-purposed to focus on the delivery of truly affordable, high quality homes in Newham.
This is a high-profile role in that the London Borough of Newham secured the largest grant award in London from the GLA and Red Door Ventures is the Council’s key delivery partner, contributing to a programme of at least 1,000 new homes by 2022.
We are now looking for a new Chief Executive to lead and shape the next stage of the company’s development, accountable to both Board and the LB Newham as the sole shareholder.
The role requires an outstanding and enthusiastic professional with the right balance of commercial acumen and strong sense of social purpose, aligned to the Council’s community wealth building agenda.
You must have a verifiable record track record of personal delivery of high-quality residential development and place making in areas of economic deprivation. You will have a collaborative style and determination to achieve targets in a complex urban environment.
The Chief Executive of Red Door Venture should also be comfortable and experienced in working with locally elected representatives and understand the importance of well-designed neighbourhoods in the Newham context.
