Hammersmith & Fulham is a borough at the heart of a world-class city and we strive to be at the forefront of what London offers for our diverse communities. As a Council, we believe in doing things with our residents, rather than to them and in co-producing services with the people who use them. Our philosophy is to enhance civic life by empowering residents to change their own lives and neighbourhoods. That includes giving residents a leading role in developing policy in public, with the public. We know we’ll be successful if we bring people together to tackle what holds us back.

We’re also working hard to create a truly compassionate council, so that everyone is looked after. We’ll always challenge the unfairness that threatens to leave people behind. We are the only authority to have abolished home care charges and we’ve been leading the way in unblocking the barriers preventing unaccompanied refugee children finding safe haven in the UK. We have also been working with local resident groups on life changing issues such as hospital closure plans and we will continue to do so to protect critical services.

In this critical role you will manage significant budgets spanning in-house services and formalised arrangements with statutory partners. You will share our vision to achieve whole scale change in attitudes towards independent living, co-production and disability. You will bring an unquenchable thirst for harnessing the passion and drive that exists across Hammersmith & Fulham to deliver services based on a social rather than clinical model of care.

Your determination to achieve collective buy-in from our key partners on the prevention and co-production agenda will ensure you thrive in our well-managed financial environment. You will also play a key role in our innovation work and our commitment to continuous improvement though our wider public service reform agenda.
