At the Energy Systems Catapult, we instigate and drive forward meaningful and important initiatives that not only have a genuinely positive impact on the Government’s Climate Change agenda, but also on UK plc and our country’s world class reputation for innovation.

We take an independent, whole energy systems view, working with stakeholders across the energy sector (consumers, industry, academia and government) to identify innovation priorities, gaps in the market and overcome barriers to accelerating the decarbonization of the energy system at least cost.  In doing so, we seek to open up routes to market for innovators, as well as supporting them to understand how their products, services and value propositions fit into the transforming energy system.

As we grow and evolve, we see the appointment of our first Commercial Director as a critical step in our journey, playing a pivotal role in shaping our approach to the sectors in which we operate, identifying and helping us to act on opportunities to innovate; establishing mutually beneficial strategic partnerships and growing our revenues within the parameters of our value set.

You will be a strategically focused Commercial Director with experience of contributing to profitable business growth through innovation, ideally in the energy sector.  Customer-centric, tenacious and collaborative, you will be an exceptional relationship builder and communicator with the personal market insight and entrepreneurial flair to stimulate a broad range of activity and the personal commitment to see initiatives through.  Intellectually capable and with high levels of energy, you will have a reputation for acting upon good ideas and connecting great people and organisations and your personal investment and belief in our agenda will be infectious, enabling us to increase our influence and standing at the most senior levels of industry, academia and government.

This is a role which will require significant intellect, energy and commitment and it’s vital that you have a passion for what we do.  There are many challenges ahead but there’s never been a better or more exciting time to join us in work which is not only critically important to future generations, but also vastly stimulating.
