NPC is recruiting for a Director of Consulting to join their busy and dynamic team and work across a wide range of projects. Their work is highly regarded in the sector, and they work with a range of clients including charities of all sizes, grant-making trusts, corporates, government and philanthropists.

With a reputation for leadership through ideas as well as expertise in working practically with charities and funders, NPC publish research reports, thought pieces and practical guidance, and have helped numerous organisations and sectors.

This is an exciting and pivotal opportunity if you have a passion for making the charity sector more effective. You will be responsible for ensuring that NPC delivers funded client work and research projects that achieve the revenue budget and help deliver NPC’s charitable mission.

One element of this role is being accountable for and overseeing the functioning and efficiency of the consultancy team – in terms of resource use and planning, recruitment, delivery, quality and regular sales and business development.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate innovative thinking in identifying new opportunities and developing new products to sell in addition to pure consulting services, both within existing as well as new markets that are within mission, deliver revenue and achieve impact.  This is likely to include the structuring of deals for major projects – seeking out opportunities, putting together partnerships, working out commercials, negotiating terms - both where they are large scale competitively-tendered programmes and where we initiate or co-develop the opportunity and get it funded.

The post holder will be a key member of the senior management team and will therefore contribute fully to strategy development and to the general management of NPC.
