HM Naval Base, Clyde
03 December 2018
Ministry of Defence
One of the largest landowners in the UK, Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) plays a vital role in supporting our armed forces by building, maintaining and servicing the infrastructure that the men and women who serve our country need to live, work, train and deploy on operations. We manage assets worth £28bn and draw on the talent, commitment and expertise of a 4,500-strong workforce. We are currently undertaking an ambitious series of development and construction programmes, not least of which is the HM Naval Base Clyde Programme (HMNB Clyde Programme), a key enabler for some of the MoD’s most important strategic outputs.
A full member of the DIO Senior Leadership Team, the Head of the HMNB Clyde Programme will lead one of the most important and challenging of DIO’s construction and development programmes. Valued at £1.6bn over 15 years, the scope of the Clyde Infrastructure Programme includes all capital infrastructure projects on the Clyde sites at Faslane and Coulport, from berthing and docking facilities, through to site security and enabling works such as roads and utilities. The role is rich and diverse, and a unique opportunity to join a forward thinking and progressive organisation as it enters the next phase of its development.
With deep and expert understanding of the design, engineering and construction processes, you bring substantial senior experience of complex programme delivery. An exceptional leader, you will also be able to evidence a track record of delivery and customer focus across a large scale and technically challenging programme. You are a natural collaborator and an effective communicator who can point to a successful track record of inspiring others and of winning the confidence and trust of your stakeholders, external and internal. You will be experienced, too, developing, motivating and leading high performing teams to succeed, and your commercial and supplier management skills are first-rate.
