Knowledge Transfer Network
The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) aims to catalyse growth of private businesses and the UK economy and to improve people’s lives by capturing the maximum value from innovative ideas, scientific research and creativity. We do this by bringing together businesses, entrepreneurs, academics and funders to develop new products, processes and services and consequently have an unprecedented overview of the UK innovation landscape. We also have a unique and impartial capability in facilitating connections and collaborations across sectors, academia and businesses, as well as across the interfaces of technologies. Having already achieved a great deal, we are now going in pursuit of business growth and change to expand our impact, increase our efficiency and to ensure that our activities are the best they can be to deliver maximum impact and value for UK plc.
As Chief Executive Officer, you will be tasked with making KTN known as the World’s leading innovation network and to this end, will be required to set and implement a shared vision, organising and positioning the company for success whilst connecting and working with a broad range of stakeholders, including companies and researchers across markets and technologies, public sector funders of innovation, private sector investors and with the Company’s Board.
Having worked across multiple industry sectors (including UK or devolved Government) in a relevant role, you will be well connected and respected by a broad range of stakeholders, with a personal track record of identifying and responding to opportunities to innovate in support of shared outcomes. Regardless of background, you will have consistently harnessed the exceptional talent and commitment of bright people to create and apply intellectual capital in context and will understand how to create business environments in which subject matter experts can thrive; partnering, consulting and collaborating to push the boundaries of their knowledge in support of commercial success.
A strong and visible strategic leader with intellectual curiosity, ambition, commercial acumen and enthusiasm for our work, you will enjoy the breadth and complex nature of our activity and will be personally invested in the importance of applied research and innovation in the UK. With exceptional relationship building skills, you will have a reputation for making things happen through inspiring and galvanising multiple disparate parties into action and will be pragmatic, with an engaging and tenacious personality, first class negotiation and strategic management credentials and the personal energy and experience to get us noticed by an international audience.
This is an exceptional opportunity to make an important contribution to UK plc.
