We have 60,000 staff and a portfolio of 115 offices reduced from 170 just three years ago which, with your support and expertise, will move to a flexible and modern estate comprising of 13 regional centres, 5 specialist Sites and a London Headquarters equipped with the digital infrastructure and facilities needed to compliment a highly skilled and diverse workforce. The scale of this ambition is significant and unparalleled. Our Estates Transformation Directorate is highly focussed, and we need people who will make a difference. At this exciting time for HMRC and the directorate we wish to appoint a Director of Estates Transformation to lead the overall strategy and delivery of this programme, leading a large team made up of civil servants, consultant partners and on-site contractors. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a number of large construction, fit-out and refurbishment projects in line with HMRC’s estate transformation ambitions, managing engagement and negotiation with contractors and local authorities, and supporting the transition of a vast workforce into the new regional hubs.
You will be an experienced leader of property and estates delivery and transformation programmes, with a complete understanding of the development lifecycle and experience of providing oversight to complex construction and fit-out projects. You will bring a proven leadership capability, with the necessary gravitas and expertise to manage a large, geographically dispersed team, and will be comfortable and credible engaging with senior stakeholders both within government and within specialist consultancy and contracting organisations.
