Do you have what it takes to transform a new organisation?

We aim to become a world changing organisation that delivers exceptional customer experiences and lifts our ambitions. We are undergoing a Transformational programme of change at the same time as creating one new council, named Somerset West & Taunton, which will cover the area currently administered by Taunton Deane Borough Council and West Somerset Council. With this change comes the unique opportunity to wholeheartedly transform our ways of working and we are recruiting to a leadership team that will help us move from a traditional service-based structure to a borderless and flexible way of working that is fundamentally aligned to our priorities of people, place and prosperity.

We need a strategic leader with the expertise, skills and desire to shape and deliver our ambitions in Procurement.

This is a critical new role for us as you will be Council’s Lead advisor on all procurement matters. Your role will be to develop our new procurement framework, including category management activities, and to shape how we procure goods and services. This is a strategically important role that will truly help shape the future of our organisation. Your role will be to drive best practice across all procurement activity and to own and promote our ambition to get as much “self-serve” procurement activity as possible.

We are excited to hear from individuals who want to join us in delivering world changing leadership for our new council who can deliver on the scale of our ambitions.

If you have the innovative leadership, drive, expertise and vision required to transform and improve our organisation, we would like to hear from you.
