South Essex Homes was formed in 2005 as the Arm’s Length Management Organisation for Southend-on-Sea Borough Council. We currently manage approximately 6,500 homes and employ 180 staff.
Over the past decade, South Essex Homes has evolved. We have worked hard to improve our services, increase satisfaction and residents are very much at the heart of our business. Part of this evolvement has included the production of our commercial company South Essex Property Services, which now employs 50 staff. We now see a huge opportunity for us to build on our recent success grow our Property Services arm and increase the commercial activity within the parent company South Essex Homes.
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Director with aspirations and the ability to become an Executive Director. This is a critical commercial and successor post destined to replace our existing Executive team at the head of our organisation.
You should be an ambitious, ‘can do’ individual, a leader with a strong commercial skill set, whilst having a good working knowledge of how a public sector body operates. You will have had exposure to managing a wide range of contract arrangements and a track record in development and delivery of new business opportunities for an organisation. You will have worked at a senior level in a substantial organisation and bring a track record of successful delivery in a strongly collaborative environment.
