We are helping to change Britain’s nuclear legacy into an environmental one. As one of the largest reactor decommissioning programmes in Europe, we are seeking to build a special team of world-leading professionals. A team that can help accomplish our mission safely, securely and cost-effectively. It’s a unique opportunity for talented individuals who want to help the country turn a corner.
The Head of Legal & Company Secretary will work across the Magnox organisation to ensure full legal compliance with all relevant legislation and regulation, providing legal support and advice to the Executive and Board, as well as a crucial internal advisory service on all legal matters. You will collaborate with a range of stakeholders within Magnox and across the wider NDA estate, providing legal input on day-to-day and strategic issues, and will ensure complete legislative and regulatory compliance in the capacity of Company Secretary. As a member of the Executive team, you will also provide input to strategic decision-making and direction setting, as well as working in collaboration with the NDA Corporate Centre to leverage resources, best practices and capabilities for the benefit of the Group.
You will be a qualified lawyer and will come from the nuclear sector or a comparable heavily-regulated environment, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance with a challenging set of legislative and regulatory requirements. You are likely to be currently operating as a ‘Head of’ or deputy, preferably within an in-house legal function. You will bring a positive, engaging and proactive style, with a proven ability to drive collaboration and integration of legal services.
