Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust aspires to be a leader in the digital health revolution. With the launch of a full Electronic Patient Record in 2017 the Trust aims to be the safest, most efficient and patient centred trust in the NHS. The launch is part of a 10-15 year ongoing project of modernisation with future opportunities for research, development in this rapidly developing field of medicine. Through working at CHFT you can be part of this innovative area aiming to bring safer and more effective care to our patients.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is a large multi-site provider of acute and community care in West Yorkshire with a turnover of £370m and approximately 6000 colleagues. Our dedicated workforce is committed to our purpose: to deliver outstanding ‘Compassionate Care’ to the diverse communities we serve – a population of almost half a million people living across Calderdale and Greater Huddersfield. We are in a unique position to shape patient pathways and organisational relationships and to lead the way in creating new models of care for the future.

We are proud of the achievements of our staff and delighted to be recognised by the CQC as ‘Good’ under the single oversight framework. From a solid base, our developments will include creating the reconfiguration of hospital services across our sites, further integrating our hospital and community services, developing our collaboration with other local and regional health and care providers and building on our international reputation for digital maturity.

We are seeking an ambitious and inspirational Director of Nursing who will also hold the position of Deputy Chief Executive. As Deputy to an experienced and well respected Chief Executive, this role will offer you an excellent opportunity to take a central leadership role within the Trust and further improve our quality of compassionate care. You will also help us build relationships with our partners in the wider health and care economy - all of which will help us in our continuous improvement journey to become ‘Outstanding’.

A creative leader, who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment, you will bring an approachable and collaborative style and be comfortable working within a culture that the CQC has described as being ‘open and inclusive’. With a track record of leading quality improvement, you will build credibility quickly and gain the trust of our dedicated professional workforce. This role represents a significant opportunity to drive significant change in delivering sustainable high quality services for our populations.
