Clarion is the UK’s largest housing association, serving 360,000 customers across more than 170 local authorities. With a heritage spanning over a century, we are proud to be celebrating 125 years of Clarion. We are a major home builder and a social investor, with our charitable foundation, Clarion Futures, delivering one of the country’s largest social investment programmes. Every penny we make is reinvested in our mission to provide homes for those who need them most.

We are now seeking a new Chief Information Officer to join our Group Executive Team. This is a pivotal moment to join Clarion as we continue to transform our organisation to meet the evolving needs of our customers and communities. Our CIO will play a critical role in shaping and delivering our technology strategy, ensuring our platforms are modern, secure, and aligned with our business goals.

As CIO, you will lead large, multi-disciplinary teams responsible for driving innovation, improving service delivery, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Your leadership will ensure that our colleagues have the tools, systems, and insights they need to succeed, making their jobs easier so they can focus on delivering more for our customers.

You will champion the design and delivery of simple, intuitive digital services that meet the diverse needs of all our customers, whatever their tenure, and enhance their experience with Clarion. By aligning technology with our strategic ambitions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a modern, efficient, and customer-focused organisation, delivering at pace to meet the organisation’s commitment to measurably improving the customer experience.

We are looking for an exceptional leader with a proven track record in executive-level technology roles within large, complex, customer-focused organisations. You will bring deep expertise in digital transformation, enterprise IT, and cyber security, alongside strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills. Crucially, you will be a clear and confident communicator, able to translate complex technical concepts into accessible insights for a wide range of audiences, including the Board, colleagues at all levels, customers, and external stakeholders. You will also be proficient in Microsoft technologies (or equivalent enterprise platforms), with a strong understanding of how to leverage these tools to drive efficiency, collaboration, and innovation across the organisation.

You will understand the importance of operating in a regulated, customer-focused environment and bring a sophisticated awareness of the governance, compliance, and service expectations that come with it. Your approach will be inclusive, transparent, and focused on delivering value for money and excellent customer outcomes.

At Clarion, we believe in equity, diversity, and inclusion. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to be themselves. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
