British Safety Council is seeking a bold, strategic leader to join its Executive Team as Strategy and Impact Director - a newly created role at the heart of our transformation journey. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK’s most respected health, safety, and wellbeing charities, as we redefine our purpose and expand our reach across the UK and internationally.

We’re entering an exciting phase of strategic renewal, and we need someone who can bring clarity, ambition, and direction to our work. You’ll lead the development of our charitable strategy, guiding the organisation through a period of repositioning and growth. You’ll ensure our programmes are mission-driven, insight-led, and designed to deliver measurable impact.

Your remit will include:

  • Strategic leadership of our charitable programmes, from design to delivery and reporting.
  • Embedding impact measurement and learning in a compelling framework that drives performance and accountability.
  • Shaping fundraising narratives, building evidence-based cases for support and partnership.
  • Influencing policy and public discourse to amplify our voice with government, statutory bodies, and key stakeholders.
  • Co-developing a diversified fundraising strategy, with a strong focus on corporate partnerships and donor stewardship.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of strategic leadership in the non-profit sector - ideally with experience in supporting organisational transformation, impact measurement, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll be a confident communicator, a persuasive writer, and a collaborative leader who can inspire teams and build trusted relationships.

If you’re passionate about purpose-led work and ready to help shape the next chapter of our journey, we’d love to hear from you.
