Are you ready to shape the future of football heritage? The National Football Museum is seeking an inspiring leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Exhibitions & Collections Transformation Director (ECTD).

The National Football Museum in Manchester is the UK’s leading museum dedicated to the beautiful game. Located in the heart of the city, the museum celebrates football’s rich history and cultural impact, welcoming visitors of all ages to explore interactive galleries, engaging exhibitions, and one of the world’s most significant collections of football memorabilia. Our exhibitions programme enables us to showcase the collection through impactful storytelling and by exploring cultural and creative themes that truly represent the role of football in society and our lives.

About the Role

You’ll lead the transformation of our galleries and collections, driving innovation and digital change to create engaging, inclusive, and sustainable experiences for all visitors. You’ll oversee the move to a new resource centre, champion special exhibitions, and ensure our collections reflect the diversity and passion of football’s story.

About You

You are a proven leader with experience delivering complex, innovative exhibition projects in major visitor attractions. You bring expertise in collections management, digital transformation, and team leadership. You’re passionate about diversity, audience engagement, and building partnerships, with the vision and drive to deliver sector-leading change.

If you want to combine football and creativity at one of the leading cultural venues in Manchester, we would love to meet you.

As an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation (NPO), we are committed to ensuring our services and resources are accessible to all.
