It’s an important job and we are looking for a Director of Risk, Data Analysis and Insights to help us get it right – leading cross-cutting work that will enable us to make better use of our data in analysing and informing our approach to market risk. You will be responsible for leading an expert team covering research, data science, horizon scanning and market insights to develop an organisation wide approach to ensuring data-driven risk assessment.

Whether it’s the impact of AI, shifting risks in the legal market or high-profile cases, the legal landscape is shifting.  If you have a track record of achievement in helping complex organisations make best use of their data to understand emerging risks and opportunities, then this role is for you.

What’s in it for you?

  • Play a key part in delivering work in the public interest
  • Be instrumental in delivering framework that enables data-driven, risk-based decision making, that gathers insights from across the organisation, and externally to identify and act on the key risks and opportunities presented by the legal services market.
  • Lead a dedicated, expert team of research, data and insight professionals

What we’re looking for:

  • Detailed understanding of risk-based regulatory frameworks
  • Experience of designing and/or delivering organisational data-driven, risk identification, assessment and management functions
  • Proven ability in leading data informed risk and research functions and teams at a senior level
  • Track record of leading and delivering solutions, taking accountability for the successful resolution of very complex issues
  • Able to work under pressure to deadlines.
  • Strong decision maker, able to think independently and to produce practical and clear conclusions to complex issues
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement at a C-suite level
  • Strong commitment to equality and diversity both as a leader and a colleague
  • Inspirational leader with ability to drive change and motivate others to deliver effectively in times of change
  • Knowledge of legal services, or professional services markets (or capacity to quickly develop this knowledge)

Useful and additional information

We have a hybrid working model with a blend of home and office working. You will be expected in the office at least two days a week.

This role is permanent. The post-holder can be based from one of our three offices in Birmingham, London or Cardiff. However, as the team is mainly based in Birmingham, there will be an expectation of the role-holder being in the Birmingham office regularly (at least once a week), particularly in the first year of the role.
