Safe, high-quality care every time

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) are seeking to appoint two exceptional individuals to join our Board as Non-Executive Directors (NEDs). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the delivery of high-quality, compassionate healthcare services across our region.

To be considered for the roles you must reside in Cumbria, Lancashire, North East England or Yorkshire.

We know that the best Boards are those that reflect the communities they serve and therefore we strongly encourage applications from diverse candidates and those who are under-represented at Board level in the NHS.

You do not need to have worked in the NHS before, but a commitment to public service and alignment with the NHS values is essential.

About us

NCIC provides hospital and community health services to more than 320,000 people. Our reach is over 2,600 square miles, from Carlisle to Kendal, and the Cumbrian coast to the North Pennines. We’re responsible for delivering over 70 services across 15 main locations, and we employ over 6,500 members of staff.

The Roles

These roles offer an exciting opportunity to make a real difference as part of a complex and ambitious NHS organisation. We are seeking two values-driven and inspiring individuals with differing skill sets to further enrich our Board.

  • Role 1: Transformation

We are looking for a candidate with a strong track record of leading significant organisational transformation or change in a commercial setting. You will bring insight and challenge to the Board, drawing on your experience to support the Trust as we continue to adapt to an evolving healthcare landscape.

  • Role 2: Procurement

For our second vacancy, we are seeking an individual with significant experience in a senior strategic leadership role in procurement and contract management. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the Trust’s approach to resource optimisation and value for money in complex healthcare contracts.

For both of the roles you will need to have:

  • Board level or equivalent experience in a large, complex organisation
  • An understanding of organisational and culture change management and transformation in a dynamic organisation
  • Experience of providing appropriate leadership, oversight, support, and challenge at decision-making levels in a diverse organisation

Join Us

There has never been a more exciting time to join NCIC. These roles are both an opportunity to contribute to your community, whilst also being part of an organisation that values kindness, respect, ambition, and collaboration.

If you are passionate about becoming a vital part of our journey to deliver outstanding care, and you have the skills and experience to help guide a forward-thinking NHS Foundation Trust, we’d love to hear from you.

Together we are creating healthier futures for everyone across Cumbria and beyond.
