At the UK Cyber Security Council, we’re here to connect, champion and charter the UK’s cyber security profession. Our work is driven by a diverse group of experts, volunteers and partners who bring energy, insight, and commitment to everything we do. Through setting the standards for competence and ethics, awarding professional titles, and supporting more people to get into a career in cyber, we’re on a mission to grow and empower the UK’s cyber security workforce. Our vision is to help make the UK one of the most secure places anywhere in the world to do business in cyberspace.

As Chief Executive Officer, you will play a highly visible, externally active role, generating industry demand for our standards and accreditations, ensuring they are respected for their relevance, quality and value. This will involve collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to maintain high levels of support and input, offering an outstanding experience to our growing membership, and providing strong leadership to the licensed providers who are critical to high quality and delivery excellence.

We are looking for a leader with a genuine interest in our work, the cybersecurity ecosystem more broadly, and our members. A customer-centric, commercial and collaborative Chief Executive or Executive Director, you will be accustomed to working with boards, partners and across organisational boundaries to deliver sector leading standards, products, services and thought leadership in support of organisational mission, purpose and values.

A rounded, inclusive and inspiring leader, you will bring a contemporary skill set and values, able to run regulated businesses well, iteratively develop infrastructure and capabilities, and respond to market dynamics to maximise business results and impact in a profit for purpose business model. Thriving in complex governance settings, you will also be capable of working with government, strategic partners and volunteer communities to achieve common goals.

This is an important appointment for us at a key moment in our growth and development. If you think this is the challenge for you, we look forward to hearing from you.
