Kensington and Chelsea is home to nearly 144,000 people from over 50 nationalities, a borough that celebrates the strength of community and the richness of diversity. With beautiful green spaces and exceptional public areas, we’re committed to preserving what makes us unique. We are dedicated to learning from our past and becoming the best Council for all our residents—one that listens, learns, and works alongside communities. Together, we strive for a greener, safer, and fairer Kensington and Chelsea for everyone.

We are looking for a Head of Housing Solutions & Support to lead high-quality services that meet housing needs and reduce homelessness in our borough. Reporting to the Director of Housing Needs, you will oversee homelessness prevention services, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and improve the quality of life for those in need.

About the Role
In this role, you will lead housing services, including Housing Solutions, Outreach & Support, Reviews, and the West London Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Coordination Team. Your focus will be on homelessness prevention, relief and rough sleeping services, ensuring they are effective and customer-focused. You’ll work collaboratively with teams, stakeholders, and partners to deliver seamless services, while also influencing policy on homelessness and housing needs locally and nationally.

A key priority will be reducing temporary accommodation use, managing demand, and promoting long-term housing solutions. You will ensure compliance with the Homelessness Reduction Act and other housing legislation, while fostering a positive, inclusive team culture focused on staff development.

About You
We are looking for a proven strategic leader with a strong understanding of homelessness prevention, housing needs, and legislation. You will have experience leading significant change, managing complex services, and building relationships with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in housing services, a strong grasp of housing issues and case law, and a proven ability to lead transformational change. You should also have financial and budget management experience with a focus on reducing expenditure and improving efficiency.

If you’re a results-driven leader passionate about improving housing solutions and homelessness prevention, we’d love to hear from you.
