Gateway is an ambitious, resident-focused housing association. It is committed to delivering high-quality homes and services and forging strong bonds and relationships with customers, residents and partners. Gateway’s journey began in 1926 and since then it has grown to own and manage 3,000 properties that do more than provide homes for people to live in - they become a part of customers’ life stories. The organisation has an enduring commitment to the borough of Tower Hamlets and London’s East End. Currently rated G1/V1 by the Regulator of Social Housing, Gateway’s goal remains to create vibrant communities where everyone can find their perfect home to fulfil their dreams.

Gateway’s corporate vision is that people will want to live at Gateway and people will want to work at Gateway. Gearing up to celebrate its 100th year in 2026, serving London’s East End and Tower Hamlets, the organisation is now looking for an inspiring and dynamic Head of Strategic Asset Management. The role will make a real difference to the quality, safety and sustainability of Gateway’s housing portfolio and the communities in which the homes are provided. Part of the leadership team, the postholder will lead the technical surveying, major works and investment functions. You will also lead on fire safety, building safety and compliance activity. The Head of Strategic Asset Management takes on the guardianship of Gateway’s Asset Management Strategy and asset data to influence, shape and plan investment strategic priorities.

Gateway is looking for collaborative leaders of people who are able to dive into the detail when required whilst maintaining a strategic vision. It is an organisation that embraces the culture of East London with energy and passion and is committed to ensuring that it remains at the forefront of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Gateway is looking for leaders who have experience in property/building maintenance along with the drive to deliver better and faster outcomes for residents. The role requires strong and collaborative leaders who can deliver successful change and improve services. Gateway is looking for individuals who are genuinely driven by delivering a great service, keeping residents at the heart of what they do and who can inspire their teams to do the same. Working with your colleagues across Gateway, you will create a culture which puts residents first and is proactive, responsive and inclusive. Using your influencing and communication skills, you’ll work with stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes against demanding objectives.
