AAT is the world’s leading professional body for Accounting Technicians. With 124,000 members and students we operate with considerable reach across a complex international landscape, developing accessible finance qualifications to ensure businesses can draw upon skilled people to meet their challenges head on. We anticipate and respond to frequent changes in industry, regulation, and education to support the profession, and believe our ability to break down barriers and empower people with real world experience has never been more relevant or important.

As with any professional body, our future sustainability and continued positive impact is dependent upon our relevance to current and future members, and our timely and appropriate response to external influences and market conditions. We must pay attention to the outside world, evolving our offerings, approaches and partnerships to maximise our relevance and value to current and future members, employers and the public. In doing so, we will stay at the forefront of progress and change to grow and support a profession that is trusted and valued.

Now one year into our Securing Future Relevance strategy (2023-2030), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards in support of the profession we serve. Our value will be measured by the relevance of our products and services, and our ability to maintain a strong and influential voice to positively impact the profession and its contribution to communities.

With new strategies comes organisational change and we have recently appointed some outstanding new talent to our organisation. We are now looking to make several further strategic hires, including a Reputation, Influence and Brand Director who will play an important new role; ensuring that we operate with influence and are recognised as a highly respected and inclusive professional body.

In this role, you will be tasked with resetting our approach to our reputation, influence and brand to secure greater recognition for AAT, our students, membership and key customers within the accountancy profession. Your ability to collaborate and build outstanding relationships will be key to ensuring that our brand, mission and purpose is known and respected by a broad range of stakeholders: governments, regulators, industry and educators, positioning us to both influence policy and respond to industry needs.

Having worked across similar industry, government and regulatory landscapes, you will be a strategic and developmental leader who is drawn to our values and charitable purpose, motivated by the opportunity to represent AAT as a force for good. Whilst prior exposure to the profession we serve will be helpful, we are open to new perspectives. What is most important is your strategic communications track record, your ability to open doors, influence stakeholders and develop internal capability to deliver required impact through comms excellence.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the leadership and further development of our business.  Your commitment, strong intellect, outstanding skillset and high levels of energy and enthusiasm have the potential to make a huge difference, so that together we can achieve outstanding outcomes.

These are exciting times for the AAT as we pursue business improvement, transformation and impact, and our work will continue at pace.

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, we look forward to hearing from you.
