Formed in 2007, the Trust has a rich heritage and an ambitious vision for the future of its patients and local communities, and a long track record in research and education, influencing care and treatment nationally and globally. Developing a growing range of integrated and digital care services, ICHT also offers private healthcare in dedicated facilities on all sites.

As a resilient, dynamic, and experienced NHS leader you could be the next Divisional Director Operations (DDO) for our Medicine & Integrated Care Division, reporting to the Divisional Director, Professor Frances Bowen. This is a key leadership role responsible for >3,500 staff and managing a budget of circa £250 million, covering a broad and demanding portfolio including emergency care.

Joining our values-based and progressive organisation at a senior level, as DDO you will combine your broad operational knowledge with strategic planning, working, and empowering your teams, stakeholders, and communities to help establish and embed our vision, our values, and our culture in an inclusive environment that promotes innovation and a continued focus on excellent patient care.

This is an exceptional job, and we are looking for an exceptional individual to fulfil it. It is imperative that you bring a strong blend of personal and professional qualities, credibility, and impact to this broad and influential role. We are seeking a resilient individual with experience operating within complexity, skilled in leading change and continuous improvement, and a natural collaborator with an engaging and persuasive style. Comfortable in building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders within the organisation, our health system and our communities, your passion for quality, safety and efficiency will match that of our dedicated and innovative workforce.

As such, this role needs someone with significant operational, financial and performance management experience, who is able to lead in a large organisation and manage competing demands in order to help us deliver on important milestones today whilst preparing for the years ahead. You will also bring excellent analytical skills, creativity and insight, and the necessary communication, leadership and team working qualities to support all our services to be the best they can be.

Above all else, you will share our passion for delivering patient centred and sustainable services, a drive for excellence in delivering across the portfolio, and share and exhibit the Trusts values in this highly visible leadership role. We are keen to encourage applications from the widest variety of people and want all suitable candidates to apply. We want to ensure that we do hear from you if you can bring insights to the work of the Trust if you are from a black or Asian background, live with a disability (visible or not) or are LGBTQI+.

If you are a leader who acts with integrity; can independently make bold, brave and courageous decisions; is able to understand the organisational and sector-wider contexts and present them in a way that everyone can make sense of; and is able to create and embed a strategy which engages clinical teams in all that they do, we would love to hear from you.
