Situated in the heart of the West Midlands, Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service support and serve more than 1.1 million people, spanning from the rural moorlands to major urban areas such as Stoke-on-Trent, Tamworth, Cannock and Burton-upon-Trent.
We are a caring, collaborative and accountable force with a clear commitment to establish and embed a safe and confident Staffordshire. The force has made significant progress in this journey and achieved a number of significant milestones. However, there is more to do as we strive to deliver on our ambitions for the future as set out in both our Policing Plan (2023-25) and SFRS Safety Plan (2020-24). The entire Staffordshire Police, Fire & Rescue family is firmly committed to our vision of a safe and confident Staffordshire. Secured by an outstanding local service that is passionate about serving the public, caring for its people and working in partnership.
Due to the retirement of the current postholder, we are now seeking our next Service Director Estates. Reporting to our Director of Resources (Assistant Chief Officer), our estates agenda is a key pillar in our commitment to create collaborative safe environments for our teams to work from, through our shared estates model. Working across a portfolio of Estates, PFI, and Logistics, you will develop and implement our robust estates and facilities strategy, ensuring that they align and provide effective support, and ultimately deliver the vision of each of our organisations.
As part of our Senior Leadership Team you will work closely with the Staffordshire Commissioner, both internal and external colleagues, and our PFI providers; therefore we will be looking for you to bring with you an innate ability to communicate and influence at all levels, build transparent and trusted relationships, and develop a high-performing estates service that is fit for the future.
We are therefore looking for a suitably qualified, ambitious and personable leader with experience within the public sector realm, holding a track record of sound financial and contractual management across a diverse and geographically dispersed estates portfolio. Given the journey that we are on as a Service, this is an exciting time to join our organisations, whereby your impact will both be welcomed and felt from day one. Holding a rare opportunity for someone who shares our values and ambition to embrace, shape and move the dial when it comes to effective estates management.
