Established over 26 years ago, the Considerate Constructors Scheme (”CCS”) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that works side-by-side with the construction industry and the public to raise standards and build trust in construction. Our Code of Considerate Practice helps contractors make positive changes to the way they work and to how construction activity is experienced. The achievable actions set out by the Code are for the benefit of everyone and everything - our loved ones, our nature, our communities and the planet as a whole, but we must continue to evolve if we are to meet the challenges set by a series of events and industry changes which have served to highlight the importance of continuous improvement and best practice.

We are now looking for a new Chief Executive to lead us on the next stage of our development, building on successes thus far and leading the delivery of our strategy to raise standards and build trust.  It’s vital that we maintain and build on our relevance, increasing participation in our scheme through the development of collaborative relationships and value-add services that positively impact industry, whilst addressing a range of societal and domestic issues, from climate change, building safety and ED&I to more effective outreach to communities where construction is happening.

This is a highly visible role that will require you to define and implement an ambitious business plan, fulfilling our purpose through growth in scheme participation to genuinely help industry and communities. To this end, you must be a strong ambassador and advocate who is able to garner respect from, and collaborate with the sector we serve so that our activity is relevant and valued. External advocacy and relationship building capability must be matched by outstanding commercial and leadership credentials so that you are able to run our business well, evolving our offerings, maximising our relevance and our people’s potential to deliver strong performance in all respects in support of the dynamic and exciting industry we support.

Ultimately, we are looking for a collaborative CEO with high integrity, who is not afraid to challenge and who wants to impact our built environment for the better. If you’re an exceptional leader and communicator who believes in what we do and you have the credentials, skills and qualities to work with us, we’d love to hear from you.
