At Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) we are proud to play a pivotal role in the Manchester communities which we serve. Managing almost 14,000 properties, our purpose is to provide good quality homes and services to our 29,000 tenants and leaseholders. In Wythenshawe we are a major local employer, investor, support provider and enabler, building on the strengths of local people, organisations and the wider community.

We have an impressive development portfolio which aims to deliver 1,100 new homes over the next five years, with an estimated £195m investment which will leave a lasting legacy. Our Corporate Plan is focused on utilising our resources to have a positive and lasting impact for our communities, investing in current and new properties, and working with partners to build safer, healthier communities.

There is now an opportunity for an exceptional new Board Member to join us and be the Chair of our Development Committee. This is an important role at WCHG, supporting us as we deliver our regeneration ambitions and development strategy. We have been identified by Manchester City Council as a key stakeholder in the Wythenshawe Civic Centre Regeneration Project which will achieve significant regeneration of retail, leisure and office space, along with 1,600 new homes of which 20% will be affordable.

We are looking for skills and experience to complement those of current Board and Committee Members. Ideally an experienced non-executive with knowledge of, or an interest in, the social housing sector and development programmes, we would welcome applications from  individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas: knowledge of strategic development, regeneration and place making; understanding of development delivery structures, including JVs and partnership agreements; insight into the wider Greater Manchester operating environment; and experience of the opportunities and challenges associated with the Zero Carbon agenda.

We aim to ensure that Equality and Diversity is at the heart of all we do at WCHG in both the services we provide, and as an employer. We are committed to treating everyone fairly and strive to achieve equality for the diverse mix of communities that make up Wythenshawe.
