The Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) is a non‐profit, member‐based organisation that operates with global reach, promoting knowledge and providing specialist services for construction and building services stakeholders in 93 countries. Committed to delivering a low carbon built environment that promotes well-being and brings positive outcomes to society, our mission is to make buildings better by enhancing their environmental, operational, and occupational values, and to support industry by sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and providing solutions. In doing so, we help members, customers and stakeholders reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality in buildings through the provision of specialist test, instruments, research and consultancy services in construction and building services.

As our new Chief Executive, you will be required to provide outstanding leadership to our complex, multi-dimensional business, as we embark on the next stage of our development, helping us to achieve strong business performance, business growth and diversification that speaks to our mission within the context of our value set. Strategically, we must maximise our relevance, reach and impact, offering products and services that resonate, whilst working progressively to maintain and maximise our voice and influence across a complex and diverse international landscape.

With a genuine interest in our work and our members, you will be a customer-centric, collaborative Chief Executive or Executive Director who is accustomed to working with Boards, governments, and across organisational and geographical boundaries to deliver sector leading products, services and thought leadership in support of corporate mission and purpose. A well rounded, inclusive and inspiring leader, you will bring a contemporary skill set and values to this role, able to run businesses well, modernise infrastructure and capabilities, and respond to market dynamics to maximise business results and impact.

Whilst we operate in the built environment, we are open minded about your sector experience, equally drawn to securing a fresh perspective on our opportunities and challenges as to appointing from within sector. What you must bring is strategic nous, credibility, and inclusive, inspirational leadership credentials that enable you to maximise intellectual capital and secure outstanding performance.

We will appoint our next Chief Executive at a time when our work has never been more relevant or important. If you think you have what it takes to further elevate our brand and impact as a force for good, we look forward to hearing from you.
