Can you help us to set the benchmark for excellence? Driving innovation through collaboration, delivering solutions that improve the experience of and outcomes for patients promoting the best possible standards of eye care.

Primary Eyecare is a not-for-profit optometry provider collaborative, working to support the commissioning and delivery of NHS eye care services throughout the UK. It has grown to become the leading provider of NHS primary and community eye care services in England and now employs over 100 people delivering care through a network of more than 2,300 optometry practices. The executive and operational team is very experienced in NHS contracting and commissioning, and the team also provides a call centre, referral triaging and telemedicine.

Having recently welcomed a new Chair, RT Hon Dame Janet Paraskeva, this is a critical time to join a high-impact team with significant ambition, to ensure that no matter what their circumstances - everyone has access to high-quality eye care.

We are looking for two independent Non-Executive Directors to enhance our current Board of Directors. The Board is looking for applications from those with extensive skills and experience in governance, one with direct financial experience and one with commercial expertise, both should be independent of the optometry sector.

As a values-based organisation, we are looking for individuals who share and demonstrate our values. We are Patient Centred, Collaborative, Inclusive, Trusted, Sustainable. These values ensure we remain focused and guide us in our collaborative work with Local Optical Committees, optometry practices, the NHS and most importantly – with and for patients.

We invite you to join us on this exciting journey as we work together to shape the future of eye care service delivery, growing our organisation in a sustainable and transparent way, in readiness for the next phase as we launch our 2023-2026 strategy and lay the foundations for continued success embracing change and seizing opportunities.
