Cheshire East Council has been through significant change and are now an organisation that has transformed, moving forwards as an enabling organisation that empowers its residents, and strives to be a thriving and sustainable location. We have a successful and resilient economy with many multinational businesses based here.  We have access to beautiful countryside and open spaces, and we are well connected regionally, nationally and internationally.

Our new Head of Estates will play a key role in the strategic and operational leadership to the council’s property and estate service. We have transformed our approach through the introduction of a ‘corporate landlord’ model drawing together strategic and transactional property activities, asset rationalisation as well as new developments, facilities management and the running of operational buildings. You will ensure successful performance to enable and support our frontline service delivery through ‘one public estate’ transformation, rethinking how we use our existing assets. You will help us achieve the Council’s aspirations to deliver a fit for purpose and efficient estate that meets the needs of residents, services and partners, and which embraces the aims of being open, fair and green. This is an exciting post with responsibility for over 2,700 property and estate assets encompassing corporate and operational buildings, investment properties, public buildings and schools, cultural and heritage assets, as well as a large rural and agricultural estate.

Reporting to the Director of Growth and Enterprise, we are seeking a RICS qualified professional with the leadership skills to work across a broad range of services and asset. You will lead robust governance and assurance processes to ensure our buildings and assets are well run and maintained, and support  high degrees of probity and compliance. This is a key role, working closely with Members, partners and stakeholders, as well as leading a team of committed and enthusiastic professionals. As part of a collaborative management team, this is a great opportunity for an individual with the energy to lead, inspire and motivate a team to play a key part in our future.
