The drive to deliver growth to your local economy

2-3 days per month • up to three year term

Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) is looking to recruit a Private Sector Chair to drive the local economy forward and at a very exciting time – we are about to secure up to £200m to invest in the regeneration of the Leicester and Leicestershire economy.

The Chair will provide the necessary strategic leadership, vision and ambition to take Leicester and Leicestershire’s economy to the next level. The Chair will also ensure that the LLEP develops the appropriate strategies and plans and secures further funding to accelerate economic growth in Leicester and Leicestershire.

Your Board Members will be passionate advocates for the businesses and key sectors operating within the Leicester and Leicestershire economy and will make sure that their views are heard and addressed. Your new members will sit alongside other Private Sector Members, the City Mayor of Leicester, the leader of Leicestershire County Council, Leaders of District Councils and representatives of Higher Education, Further Education and the Voluntary Sector.

You will work with an Executive, Director and support team and the Board to provide a strong voice to Government about the opportunities presented by the Leicester and Leicestershire economy and make sure that this voice is heard in Whitehall and Westminster. It operates within a strong tri-partite relationship with Government and Local Authorities, in which all parties have a clear and shared sense of the actions necessary to create a climate in which economic growth in Leicester and Leicestershire can be accelerated.
