We are an ambitious Council, passionate about our place and communities, and never more so as we respond to and recover from Coronavirus. We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our progressive senior leadership team and become our new Director for Housing and Communities, and Deputy Chief Executive, who will support the delivery of our recently adopted Corporate Strategy that sets out clear priorities for the future.
The remit of the role is broad and includes customer services, revenues and benefits, leisure services, waste and environmental services, as well as responsibility for the Council’s housing and landlord services. By drawing these customer-facing services together, and with a new digital self-service platform recently introduced, this is a fantastic opportunity to improve the whole customer journey for key community based services. With a thriving market town
economy and growing community the council is also set to embark upon a programme of new build social housing that the successful individual will help shape.
We are seeking candidates with a breadth of experience and expertise across housing and other community-based services. You will have the skills to both reflect and think strategically alongside the ability to focus on and support operational delivery. You will lead, empower and develop teams that aspire to and seek to achieve our corporate objectives, and be a system leader with strong partnership and stakeholder management skills. Working closely with Members will be key as we work collectively to deliver our exciting agenda.
