We are commercial, ambitious and 100% focused on working to support our clients through providing expert advice and intelligent analysis to deliver the best fit resources for their needs today and tomorrow. What do we do?

Our focus is clear: we work with clients delivering services to the public. From launch 12 years ago, we have retained a clear focus upon developing our sector expertise and detailed knowledge at both national and local level. Today our expertise spans Central and Local government, Health, Education, Not for Profit, Regulation, Children’s Services, Adult Services, Regeneration, Environment and Housing.

We have three core service offerings: Executive search, Interim Leadership and Assessment and Development. These three disciplines work together to deliver exceptional services to our client partners.

Those clients include Chief Executives, Chairs and Boards, Government Ministers, Heads of Education Institutes, Registrars and Directors.  We engage directly with these senior people and their teams and work together to provide the best possible resource to support them.

Executive Search

Our approach to executive search is deeply rooted in our detailed knowledge of the markets we serve and the specific needs of our clients.

We have incredibly robust networks, which give us the opportunity to introduce our clients to skills and perspectives from outside of their sector. We are innovative and we think laterally. Our goal is to enrich the clients existing skill based and to engender diversity and new approaches to really support the client agenda.  We do this because our people are creative and resourceful and take the time to think and work with the client. 

Recruiting from the commercial sector is an increasing area of focus and getting that right takes know how and skill.  That is why our Executive Search practice is so successful.  And there is a lot more to go for – we have a blatant determination to be number one in all our target sectors.  Getting there will take creativity and skill. Our ability to collaborate internally and externally will be key.  

Interim Leadership

We continually work to develop a network of the very best interim executives. We are market leaders in a number of our target areas and this gives us unique access to the best and most diverse interims, many of which are not yet active in the market.   It is this ability to spot the real client requirement and match that to the best interim managers - and to engage them - that leads to happy clients who use our services again and again.

Leadership & Talent Consultancy

We have a passion for solving complex and challenging problems in resourcing and people development.  This combined with our deep knowledge of public services means that our in-house team is a valuable resource for all GatenbySanderson disciplines as well providing a service direct to clients.

We are renowned for our best practice methodologies, extensive range of psychometric tools and ability to design bespoke exercises - from media role-plays to full-scale leadership development centres, supported by our proprietary technical platform. Our core team of Occupational Psychologists are experts in their professional field, in addition to being distinguished by their understanding of the public and not for profit sector.  And we are always interested in talking to experienced Occupational Psychologists looking for a new challenge.

How do we do it?

We are organised, targeted and remunerated around our sectors (not our locations).  We are truly focused on understanding and then delivering the right resource to our clients and this is best done by having a depth of understanding of the sector that they are operating in.
