We want to pioneer a transformative approach to research to cure one of Europe's major causes of sight loss. Action Against Age related macular degeneration (“AAA”) Partnership is a brand new charitable incorporated organisation established by three leading sight loss charities, the Macular Society, Fight for Sight and Blind Veterans UK, with the aim of developing an effective treatment for early-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the leading cause of sight loss in the UK. Working with the Partner charities and leading researchers in the field the purpose is to raise £100m over 10 years to invest in medical research with the aim of finding an effective intervention for early-stage AMD. 

Our aspirations are ambitious. To spearhead our growth, we’re looking for a talented and visionary Chief Executive who can lead the development and implementation of our fundraising and other strategies. You will shape our objectives and define our focus, positioning our brand and profile within the medical research community and putting in place and controlling the mechanisms we need to become effective. You will need to balance the strategic demands of the post with rolling your sleeves up to ensure delivery of highly successful outcomes.

Working with the AAA Partnership Board you will take our ambitious plans forward to create a new model to fund AMD research. You will lead on all aspects of business development, income generation and marketing, with a view to substantially expanding opportunities across the nation.

You’ll be a proven leader with energy and vision and will possess exceptional engagement and interpersonal skills. With strong commercial acumen and flair, you will bring a proven track record in extensive income generation and business development. You will also share our love of innovation and creativity and will be able to show a commitment to the cause.
