Integrated Care Boards will bring together the NHS, local government and the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in a new way to work in partnership to deliver the best possible health and care services with the resources available.

BSW ICB already has a strong record of delivery and improvement; and we are proud of what we have achieved together including being awarded Integrated Care System (ICS) status in December 2020.  As the health and care needs of the populations we serve change, with more people living longer, often with multiple long-term conditions, the BSW Partnership brings together many organisations who work together to collectively, take responsibility to improve the health and wellbeing of local people, ensure that health and care services are high-quality and to make the most efficient use of our resources.

We serve a combined local population of 940,000 across an area encompassing B&NES, Swindon and Wiltshire which has a complex and extremely varied demographic structure and geography.  This complexity poses challenges to the delivery of health and social care but we are confident that by working together in partnership and taking a coordinated approach to how we design and plan services across our partner organisations, we can truly improve the health outcomes across the system, as well as the experience of those accessing services.  Together we are committed to doing the best we can for people and communities across BSW. 

Ahead of the ICB taking on statutory form in July 2022; and following the appointment of our Chair Designate and Chief Executive Designate, we are now embarking on the process of appointing to our Executive roles, each of whom will play a pivotal leadership role as we develop our structure, our governance and our strategy moving forward.

The appointed individual will advise the Integrated ICB on matters of good governance within statutory and regulatory frameworks to meet all relevant legislation and in accordance with the terms of the ICB’s Constitution.   This will include implementing, delivering, and monitoring best corporate governance practice within an agreed governance framework to provide assurance that effective governance systems and processes are in place.

With extensive knowledge of corporate governance including risk management and highly sophisticated leadership and influencing skills gained within complex environments, we are seeking an innovative and quality focussed individual able to deliver the annual and operational planning for the ICB and develop and implement the performance management and oversight framework, taking a clear leadership role for its success.
