Bury GP Federation
Bury GP Federation was created to enhance the delivery of health and care services to our local population. We now have 30 of the town’s 31 General Practices in membership and therefore cover 97% of the 200,000 people of Bury. We believe that community-based services which are high quality, consistent and joined up must be the solution to many of the pressures on today’s NHS and that General Practice is ideally placed to lead this community-based provision.
Having recently appointed a new Chair in Dr Mike Burrows, we are now seeking a new Chief Officer to work with Mike and lead the organisation into the next stage of its development, which is centred around positioning primary care as the foundation of Bury’s healthcare system within the wider Integrated Care Organisation. There is a job to be done around ensuring operational delivery whilst also building relationships with directors, shareholders, commissioners and key delivery partners to ensure that the company delivers benefit to its shareholders and to the people of Bury. As a director and Board member you will share corporate responsibility for all company affairs. You will be responsible for improving work at the interface, principally between practices and community staff, within and beyond the NHS hospital services, as well as developing community-based services as a better alternative to hospital-based services.
We are seeking a someone with a proven track record of positive impact working as a leader at Board level within the health, care or relevant sectors, particularly with experience of working with General Practice. You will have knowledge of the commissioning and provision of services and be experienced in building relationships and partnerships within a complex system setting. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, creative and strategic thinker with the ability to work on short, medium and long term plans, and develop Bury GP Federation as a model of excellence.
