Housing Plus Group and Stafford and Rural Homes, both successful and high-performing organisations, will merge in October to create an influential housing, care and property group for Staffordshire and Shropshire. With a turnover of nearly £100m, the combined group will own and manage around 18,000 homes. Continuing to focus on placeshaping and neighbourhoods, our investment in communities and people will remain a key priority and by 2023 we will have started work on 2,000 new homes for rent, shared ownership and outright sale. It’s an exciting and positive time for us, with improved career prospects for our 800 staff, as well as the creation of 100 new apprenticeship places across our group and supply chain over the coming years.

With so many opportunities open to us post-merger, we are moving forward at pace and looking for a number of new Non-Executive Directors to join us. Our culture is one of high-performance, energy and a determination to deliver the best possible outcomes for our communities. We’re looking for senior strategic leaders from a variety of professional backgrounds to complement our Board and help us deliver our growth plans.

We are particularly interested in candidates who’ll bring an impressive career track record in finance, digital innovation, customer focus, legal or property / development. We would also welcome hearing from those with extensive commercial acumen gained in other professional fields, and we will support and guide candidates looking to commence their NED career with us. Having progressed to board or senior executive level, delivering notable outcomes in complex and multi-stakeholder environments, you’ll share our passion for making a lasting difference to peoples’ lives and be as excited about our considerable potential as we are.

These roles are likely to require a time commitment of around 20 days per annum plus attendance at strategic planning events. The remuneration for Board Committee roles is £6100 per annum, and for Group Board roles it’s £8600. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from people with the widest possible range of backgrounds.
