The overall improvement transformation programme across our Children, Families, Learning and Culture directorate has recognised the need to review and improve the current functions undertaken within our County Wide Services. Our aim is to align services to provide a more seamless provision to children and their families and reduce the number of case holders and managers that children come into contact with as they pass through the system from the front door, to becoming looked after.

This role will be pivotal in making our Corporate Parenting Service a success and ensuring we provide services that are fit for the future as well as offering value for money. It is a dedicated role that will manage the delivery of a range of residential and support services across Surrey, ensuring the highest quality of provision and improved outcomes for Looked After Children and those leaving care. Some of the services within your division will include:

  • Surrey Children's homes and the Short Breaks Service
  • Hope and Extended Hope
  • The Contact Service
  • The Virtual School
  • The Host Family Service
  • Domiciliary Care and the OT service (subject to change)
  • Central Service for Care Leavers who were former UASC

We are looking for an individual who can consistently strive to find better ways of providing joined up, cost effective and young person centred services. Alongside the specific role person spec requirements we are looking for leaders who can:

  • Motivate and inspire others
  • Provide skills, knowledge and expertise in their specialist area
  • Deliver meaningful change
  • Suggest and implement creative solutions
  • Build and maintain purposeful strategic relationships with external organisations and partner agencies
  • Work collaboratively across the directorate, organisation and with partners and stakeholders to support delivery of great services to residents.
  • Uphold Surrey's values and behaviours
