Essex County Fire and Rescue Service
We are on a journey of transformational change, working to radically transform the culture in our organisation; creating an open, collaborative and professional environment for our dedicated work force to thrive and deliver the best services for the people of Essex. With a new Chief Fire Officer/ Chief Executive in place, we are committed to making this change and creating one team; we need a motivated and innovative leadership team to help us realise our goals and make this a great collaborative place to work, delivering outcomes that will make a real difference.
We are one of the largest Fire and Rescue Services in the country, providing services to an area over 1,400 miles and a population of 1.7 million, from our 50 stations spread across the county. On the 1st of October 2017, we became the first Fire and Rescue Service in the country to change its governance and report in to the country’s first Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and we are leading the way in cross service collaboration and will work with Essex Police and wider partners to deliver further improvements to keep our communities safer.
We are leading the way with a number of ‘firsts’ in this sector, and this role is a demonstration of our commitment to transformational change. You will design the ECFRS of the future; working alongside others to ensure that the workforce have the skills, training, equipment and the technology to make the most the opportunities available. You will ensure that we are ready to work innovatively, use research and development and make the most of the digital agenda and will be the Service lead for development of our Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP). Collaborative in style, you will bring a strong track record of delivering change, engaging with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders and a commitment to effective risk management. Innovation will be at your core and delivering our aspirations and vision is what will motivate you to deliver for our community.
