Perennial is the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting everyone working in horticulture. From gardeners and landscapers to greenkeepers, tree surgeons, and grounds maintenance professionals, they help those who work with plants, trees, flowers, and grass to live healthy, happy, and successful lives.

Founded in 1839, their legacy spans nearly two centuries of compassionate support. Today, they provide free and confidential advice, financial assistance, and preventative services to thousands of individuals each year.

They are now seeking a Commercial Development Director to grow and develop Perennial’s commercial income. You will work across the organisation, leading the development and execution of strategies for each garden, ensuring they maximise visitor numbers and profitability through cafés, retail, plant sales, and events. In partnership with the Marketing & Fundraising team and garden managers, you will drive initiatives to grow sales, membership, and visitor targets, leveraging both existing opportunities and innovative new approaches.

Coming from a Commercial leadership background connected to visitor attractions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s commercial future by managing pledged and pipeline gardens, optimising resources, and engaging effectively with local communities and partner organisations. This includes anticipating risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and reporting performance against agreed KPIs. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to strategic decision-making and act as a driving force for organisational growth and success.
