Marta Phillips OBE CA talks to us about a varied career that has led her from the Stock Exchange to the National Lottery Commission to CEO of the Pensions Advisory Service and latterly a Non-Executive portfolio across Government, Higher Education, Nursing and Midwifery Council and most recently appointed as Audit Committee Chair for London Fire Brigade.
Marta didn’t set out on a structured career plan but chose instead to find purpose in her choice of career. She gives great insight into how to use every opportunity and lived experience to add value to future roles and how learning to ride later in life only reinforced her belief that effective leadership comes from influence and persuasion rather than command and control.
